Don’t worry, I haven’t started decorating! Yet… Winking smile

I started off my morning with a kick butt workout followed by some iced coffee.  I am not a huge coffee person but I do like the Starbucks Via packets.  I mixed up half a packet with water, then added some Truvia, and a splash of my new favorite almond/coconut milk blend.  I’m not sure if it was in my mind, but I did feel a little extra energy throughout the day.

The workout that I created today was based on a workout from my old trainer.  I started with a mile warm up on the treadmill, followed by 2 minutes of jump roping (or just hopping since I don’t actually have a jump rope), 30 seconds butt kickers, 30 seconds high knees, and 30 crunches.

Once everything was all warmed up and ready to go, I got straight to business with the workout.

Since I was doing this one at home, there were a few modifications to be made.

Box jumps- I used the stairs (but I would highly recommend a box instead)

Calf raises- I did these on the stairs as well

Side step- I did these on the sidewalk outside and went 25 paces down and then came back facing the same way

Lunges- Same as the side steps on the sidewalk

I think my legs will be feeling it tonight!

One of the great things about my workout today was that I had a new sports bra!  I usually double up when working out or playing sports but I had heard a lot of good things about the Moving Comfort sports bra so I decided to check them out.  I ordered 2 different styles to figure out which one I prefer.  These can be pretty expensive but I found a good deal over at Sierra Trading Post.

The one I wore today was much more secure than my regular sports bras without being too tight and making me feel like I couldn’t breathe.  I really like that the straps are adjustable and I was worried that the Velcro would make it less sturdy but that wasn’t the case.

Today at lunch, my coworker, Brianne and I had plans to go to lunch but when I woke up this morning I was much more in the mood for a brisk walk so I texted her and she agreed.  We semi-speed walked around downtown Denver for about an hour and it was a great way to spend our lunch break.

The city of Denver seems to be getting ready for the holiday season.  We passed by the capitol building where we saw Santa and his reindeer all prepped to go.

Larimer Square already had their garland up which made their permanent lights even more holiday-ish.

Then I needed a bathroom break so we tried this Starbucks.  I’ve obviously seen drive thru Starbucks before but never a drive thru only one.  There were no exterior doors that we could enter in so after checking all four sides, we looked for other options.photo 3 (2)

And then we noticed that there were two drive thru options: one for cars and one for bikes!  Another point for Denver and their constant encouragement for people to be healthy and environmentally friendly.

Question:

Has your city started getting ready for the holidays?  At the end of last week, I started noticing crews hanging lights on the trees.

Have you ever seen a bike thru Starbucks or any place for that matter?  This was definitely a first for me!
